Holiday Gift Guide 2026: Hand-Forged Gifts for Everyone Who Is Hard to Buy For
Every holiday gift guide promises something for everyone and delivers a scented candle for everyone. This one is narrower on purpose. Everything here is hand-forged steel, marble, horn or armor, made in small numbers, and meant to be kept for decades rather than opened and forgotten by New Year's. If that is not the person you are shopping for, we say so at the bottom.
It is arranged two ways: by the person, and by the budget. The person lists link out to a full guide for each, all of them written this year with every price checked against the catalog.
By the person
Dad. Start with gifts for dad who wants nothing. If he actually uses things, useful gifts for dad. If the birthday is near the holidays, birthday gifts for dad.
Husband or boyfriend. Gifts for him is the umbrella. Gifts for your boyfriend and anniversary gifts for him go deeper. For the man who is hard to buy for, Christmas gifts for men who are impossible to shop for was written for exactly this week.
The one who has everything. Unique gifts for men who have everything, or skip straight to the custom builders below, because a sword with his name on it is the one thing he cannot already own.
The cook. Gifts for chefs. The Chef's Knife, Damascus, $99.99, comes in a presentation box and is the single easiest gift on this page.
The hunter, the outdoorsman. Gifts for hunters and gifts for outdoorsmen.
The reader. Gifts for history buffs: a gladius on the desk, a Viking sword on the wall.
The player. Chess gifts for the board that stays out, DnD gifts for the table, fantasy gifts and anime gifts for the wall behind it.
The teenager. Blades ship to adults, so the youth guides are written for the adult buying on a young man's behalf: Eagle Scout gifts and confirmation gifts for boys.
The wedding party, the graduate, the retiree, the veteran, the firefighter. Each has its own guide: groomsmen, best man, groom, father of the bride, graduation, retirement, veterans, firefighters.
Nobody in particular, but it has to be good. Cool gifts for men for the reaction, luxury gifts for men for the man who has the nice watch.

Custom: the deadline is the whole story
The best gift on this page is a sword or knife built to your specification with a name, a date or a line cut into the blade in our own Illinois workshop. It is also the one with a clock on it. Custom sword builds take three to eight weeks, with expedited two to three weeks on request; the knife and axe builders run four weeks or longer. Order in October or early November and it is under the tree. Order in December and it is not. Inside the window, buy from stock above and have it engraved, which takes days rather than weeks.
Customize Your Sword, $199.99. Customize Your Knife, $149.99. Both ship unsharpened unless the sharpening option is selected. More on engraving in personalized gifts for men.
Give it somewhere to live
A Wall Mount Sword Stand, $49.99, or a Dragon Wall Mount, $99.99. A sword given without a place to hang leans behind a door until spring.
When to buy something else
- The recipient is under eighteen. Blades ship to adults. The horns, the dice, the chess sets and the shield are the list, and the youth guides above are written for the adult in the middle.
- They have no wall and no yard. The folding knife, the chef's knife, a horn or a 12-inch chess set. Nothing longer than a forearm.
- You want it custom and it is December. Stock plus engraving. A late custom sword is an apology, not a gift.
- They are not an objects person. Some people want a dinner or a trip. Nothing here fixes that.
Also worth thirty seconds: blade laws vary by state and city, most stock blades ship sharpened, nothing here goes in carry-on, and holiday carriers get slow. Ship to a home address and check the shipping page for the season's cut-offs.
