About Battling Blades
Battling Blades is a family owned and operated business based in Deerfield, Illinois. We design, sell and customize swords, knives, axes, armor and related historical, fantasy and collectible pieces.
What We Do
We focus on historically inspired, fantasy inspired and custom collectible blades. You can shop finished pieces from the catalog, from katanas and longswords to kukris and Viking axes, or design your own sword, knife, axe or spear through our Create Your Own line.
Custom Swords and Personalized Products
Custom work is one of our main specialties. The custom sword builder lets you choose the style, blade steel, length, handle, guard, pommel, scabbard and engraving, and if the listed options do not match the sword in your head, you can send us a picture, drawing or written description and we will work from that.

Materials and Construction
Depending on the piece, we work with 1095 high-carbon steel, Damascus steel, stainless steel, wood, leather, bone, micarta and metal fittings. Many pieces can be ordered with full-tang construction, sharpening, engraving and custom scabbards, and full specifications are listed on each product page.
Engraving and Custom Artwork
Many products can be personalized with blade or scabbard engraving: names, initials, dates, logos, symbols, custom artwork and UV printing where available. Personalized and made-to-order items are produced to the options and details you submit.

Battling Blades has been family owned and operated since its founding in 2017, run day to day from Deerfield, Illinois.
A small team handles everything from design to customer service to fulfillment, and every Damascus and 1095 steel blade is hand forged by our smiths.
