Zweihander

The Zweihänder — German for “two-hander” — is the largest sword Europe ever fielded in earnest. Carried by the Landsknecht mercenaries of the 16th century, and by the double-pay Doppelsöldner brave enough to swing one against a pike formation, the Zweihänder is pure presence: great length, an extended two-handed grip, and the signature parrying hooks (Parierhaken) above the guard that no other sword family wears.

Our Zweihänders run from a compact 45 inches to a towering 60, forged in 1095 high-carbon steel or layered Damascus with patterns that exist on no other blade. Every sword ships sharpened, with a full heat treatment behind the edge and a sheath included — and at 4.5 to 7 pounds, they carry the same fighting weight as the historical originals, not the anchor-heft of fantasy myth.

Choosing Your Zweihänder

Length is the main decision: a 45–49″ model displays easily and handles like a big longsword, while the 54–60″ swords are full battlefield scale. Steel is the second: 1095 high-carbon for the plain, purposeful look of working steel, or Damascus for a one-of-a-kind pattern through the full thickness of the blade.
