Ulfberht Viking Sword - Damascus Steel with Etched Wood Sheath - 40"

This 40" Ulfberht Viking Sword is inspired by the elite blades of the Viking Age and early medieval Europe. Ulfberht swords were among the most famous and desirable swords of the period, known for their association with high-status warriors, advanced blade-making, and the distinctive name traditionally found on historic examples.

This version features a Damascus steel blade with a dark, layered pattern that gives the sword a forged, historically rooted appearance. The straight double-edged blade, simple crossguard, and compact grip reflect the practical form of early medieval Viking and Carolingian swords, while the etched wooden sheath adds a strong Norse presentation for display and collection.

The blade is made from pattern-welded Damascus steel, valued for its visible layering and flowing surface grain. The dark pattern across the blade gives each sword a more individual look than a plain polished steel blade. Paired with the engraved wood sheath, this sword has the feel of a Viking-era collector piece with both blade craftsmanship and decorative detail.

At 40" overall, this Ulfberht-style Viking sword has strong display presence while still keeping the proportions of a traditional one-handed Viking sword. It is a good choice for collectors looking for a Damascus Viking sword, Norse sword, early medieval sword, or Ulfberht-style blade with an ornate wood sheath.
