Sawback Bowie Knife - Damascus Steel Survival Knife - 27"
This Sawback Bowie Knife is a massive 27-inch Damascus steel survival knife built with the bold profile of a modern Bowie-style field blade. With its oversized clip-point blade, sawback spine, black handle, and strong guard, this knife has the aggressive look collectors expect from a large survival knife while still carrying the visual character of layered Damascus steel.
The blade is forged from Damascus steel, giving it a dramatic patterned surface across the full blade. The layered steel creates natural waves and contrast throughout the metal, making each knife visually unique. The wide blade profile gives the piece a heavy, commanding presence, while the sharpened clip-point tip gives it the classic Bowie silhouette.
The sawback spine adds to the survival-knife appearance, giving the blade a rugged field-ready look. Paired with the black ribbed handle and simple guard, the design is practical, direct, and intimidating without unnecessary decoration.
At 27 inches overall, this is much larger than a standard Bowie knife. It sits between a giant Bowie knife and a short machete, making it a standout display piece for collectors of large knives, Damascus blades, survival knives, and tactical-style blades.

Design Background
The Bowie knife became one of the most recognizable American knife forms because of its large blade, strong point, and versatile cutting profile. Over time, the Bowie design influenced countless military, hunting, survival, and outdoor knives. Modern survival Bowies often add features such as larger blades, textured handles, and sawback spines to create a more rugged field-knife appearance.
This 27-inch Damascus steel version takes that tradition into oversized collector territory. The broad blade, long cutting edge, sawback spine, and black grip give it the look of a serious survival blade, while the Damascus pattern adds craftsmanship and visual depth.
