The Damascus Steel Blade
The blade is forged from alternating layers of 1095 high-carbon steel and 15N20 nickel steel, folded repeatedly to create over 300 visible layers, then acid-etched so the pattern shows through every surface. No two blades ever share a pattern — fitting, for a sword whose legend insists there is only one.
Beneath the pattern is serious steel: hardened and tempered to 58–60 HRC, sharpened along both edges, with a central fuller running nearly the full length of the blade to lighten it and bring the balance back toward the hand. This is a blade built like our historical reproductions, wearing the dress of a legend.
A Hilt Worthy of a King
The crossguard is gold-embellished in a medieval heraldic design, the black-wrapped grip is built over a solid metal core, and the pommel carries ornate crest detailing — regalia befitting the sword of a king, balanced so the whole sword handles smoothly in ceremony, re-enactment, or display. The etched wood scabbard completes the presentation, ready for the wall or the gift box.

Sword Care
Damascus is high-carbon steel, not stainless: wipe the blade clean of fingerprints and moisture after handling, and apply a thin coat of mineral oil or sword oil before storage. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which can flatten the etched pattern and dull the gold-toned fittings. The wood scabbard needs only a dry cloth — and unlike leather, it doesn't hold moisture against the blade. Because the edge is sharpened, handle the sword with care and store it out of reach of children.

The name descends from the Welsh Caledfwlch and the Latin Caliburnus, and is often interpreted as "cut steel" — a sword named for what it does. By Malory's telling, the name was sometimes glossed as "cut-steel," and the blade shone so bright it dazzled Arthur's enemies.
Is Excalibur the sword in the stone?
In most tellings, no — they're two different swords. The sword in the stone proved Arthur's right to the throne; Excalibur came later, given by the Lady of the Lake after the first sword broke, and returned to her hand at Arthur's end. Some versions merge them, but the classic legend keeps them separate.
