Embrace the grandeur of medieval Europe with our exquisitely crafted Longsword, a weapon synonymous with valor and royalty. Recognized for its two-handed grip, straight double-edged blade, and iconic cruciform hilt, this Longsword, often referred to as the 'King's Sword' or 'Bastard Sword', reflects the elegance and dominance of the warriors who wielded it.
Predominantly used during the late Medieval and Renaissance periods (roughly 1350 to 1550), this sword's design encapsulates historical accuracy. Measuring a total of 42", it features a 33" blade and an 8" steel handle adorned with brass bolsters, giving it a luxurious finish. The sword is completed with a handcrafted leather sheath, augmenting its prestige.
Blade Construction
Our Longsword is forged from pattern-welded Damascus steel, a testament to its strength and durability. This hard heat-treated, folded carbon steel is constructed from 11 pieces of steel, folded five times to create a stunning 352 layers. This meticulous process creates an intricate pattern, unique to each blade.
The sword incorporates 1095 high carbon steel, known for its impressive hardness and ability to retain a sharp edge. With a Rockwell hardness rating of 55-56 HRC, this steel is capable of withstanding powerful impacts without compromising its formidable edge.
To balance the rigidity of 1095 steel, we employ a clay tempering process to enhance the blade's flexibility. This results in a sword that marries strength, sharpness, and flexibility, embodying the perfect steel for any warrior's weapon.
