Ancestral Viking Sword - A Saga of Steel and Valor

Unveil the valor and saga of the Viking age with this meticulously crafted Viking Sword. This emblem of Nordic legacy, also known as the Viking Age Sword or the Carolingian Sword, is a quintessence of the Early Middle Ages prevalent in Western and Northern Europe. Originating in the 8th century from the Merovingian sword, it quickly became the favored blade of the Scandinavian-based Viking warriors. Drawing its core design from the Roman Gladius, this single-handed sword comes with a sharp tip and keen edges perfected for both slashing and thrusting. Its popularity soared through centuries until the 12th century when it gracefully melded into the Norman swords, marking the nascent phase of the knightly swords.

Blade Composition: A Symphony of Steel The heart of this Viking sword beats with the rhythm of Pattern Welded Damascus Steel. This unique blend of steel is heat-treated and folded meticulously, bringing together 11 pieces of steel folded five times to unveil a majestic 352-layered marvel. The blade showcases a perfect amalgamation of hardness and durability with a Rockwell hardness rating between 55 and 56 HRC. The high carbon steel used is of 1095 grade, known for its superior carbon content making it ideal for forging resilient swords. This layered congregation of steel not only holds a potent edge but also exhibits exceptional strength and flexibility to endure the vigorous collisions on the battlefield, making it the epitome of perfect sword steel.

The handle of this magnificent blade is crafted from premium quality wood, adorned with brass bolsters, ensuring a sturdy grip as you wield this piece of history. The sword is complemented with a durable leather sheath, making it a ready companion for your adventurous quests.

Great Sword and Service

This sword was bought as engagement gift for my significant other. I originally bought something slightly different, but due to delays, Battling Blades upgraded me to this slightly larger blade for free. Once the new sword was agreed upon shipping was really quick! The only thing was that part of the sword stuck out of its box by the time it arrived. However, no damage was done, and the sword is stunning. The sheath too!
