Gurkha Kukri Knife - High Carbon 1095 Steel Machete/Knife/Sword - Antique Style - 19"

Product Description:

The Gurkha Kukri knife, with its distinctive inward-curved blade, is an iconic Nepalese weapon and tool. Comparable to a machete, the Kukri is renowned for its versatility, serving both utilitarian and combative purposes. It remains an essential part of Nepalese culture and tradition, prominently featured in heraldry and rituals.

Historical Significance:

The Kukri is the traditional weapon of the Nepalese people and has been adopted by elite military units worldwide, including the Royal Gurkha Rifles of the British Army, the Nepalese Army, Assam Rifles, and the Gorkha regiments of the Indian Army. Its widespread use by Gurkha regiments globally has earned it the English name "Gurkha blade" or "Gurkha knife."

Blade Materials:

Crafted from high carbon 1095 steel, this Gurkha Kukri matches the hard steel content of ancient rapier swords. Known for its exceptional hardness and edge retention, 1095 steel contains 0.95% carbon, making it one of the highest carbon steels used in sword-making. While it may lack flexibility, its superior hardness (Rockwell Hardness of 56-58 HRC) ensures it remains sharp even through high-impact use and can be easily resharpened.

Sword Details:

  • Overall Length: 19"
  • Rockwell Hardness: 55-56 HRC
  • Number of Layers: 352
  • Sheath: Leather Sheath
  • Blade Material: 1095 Steel

Design and Craftsmanship:

Our antique-style Gurkha Kukri knife features a meticulously crafted 19" blade made from 1095 high carbon steel. This steel ensures exceptional sharpness and durability, making it ideal for both practical use and display. The knife comes with a high-quality leather sheath, providing protection and a touch of elegance.

Experience the tradition and power of the Gurkha Kukri with this high carbon 1095 steel knife. Its rich history, combined with modern craftsmanship, makes it a valuable addition to any collection or an effective tool for outdoor activities. Embrace the heritage of the Nepalese warriors with this remarkable Kukri.
