Persian Scimitar- Shamshir

A Glimpse into History

The Persian Shamshir, with its elegantly curved blade, is a renowned type of scimitar that traces its origins back to the Middle Eastern warriors of antiquity. Revered for its effectiveness in both combat and ceremonial contexts, this iconic sword has been a symbol of strength, honor, and craftsmanship for centuries. The Damascus steel used in this Shamshir harks back to the ancient art of blade-making, known for producing swords that were not only beautiful but also incredibly strong and flexible.

Blade Composition and Craftsmanship:

  • Layering Composition:
    • 6 Pieces of Carbon Steel #43 and #40
    • 5 Pieces of High Carbon Steel 1095
  • Layering Sequence:
    • 1st Fold: 11x2 = 22 Layers
    • 2nd Fold: 22x2 = 44 Layers
    • 3rd Fold: 44x2 = 88 Layers
    • 4th Fold: 88x2 = 176 Layers
    • 5th Fold: 176x2 = 352 Layers

This intricate layering process results in a blade with 352 layers, creating the distinctive wavy patterns and ensuring superior strength, flexibility, and edge retention. Each fold enhances the blade's durability and aesthetic appeal, making it a perfect addition to any collection or a formidable weapon in combat.

  • Guard: A sturdy brass guard offers excellent protection for your hands while adding a touch of elegance to the overall design.
  • Handle: The wooden handle is ergonomically designed for a comfortable grip, ensuring precise control during use.
  • Pommel: The brass ring pommel adds a unique touch and provides balance to the sword.
  • Sheath: Comes with a high-quality leather sheath, complete with a strap for easy carrying and storage.
