Xiphos Sword: A Glimpse into Ancient Warfare

The Greek Xiphos sword, an emblem of the Iron Age, is a testament to the ingenuity and craftsmanship of ancient Greek warriors. This one-handed, double-edged sword, typically measuring between 20 and 25 inches in length, was a pivotal weapon in close combat, wielded with precision and strength after the spear was cast aside. Its distinctive leaf-shaped blade, capable of both slashing and thrusting, showcases a design that has permeated the evolution of swords since their inception. The Xiphos stands out not only for its historical significance but also for its rarity, with very few original specimens surviving to the present day. Its design, echoing through the ages, was not confined to Greece alone but was a common sight across Europe in the late Bronze Age.

Exquisite Blade Craftsmanship

Crafted from the revered Pattern Welded Damascus Steel, the Xiphos sword is a marvel of metallurgical artistry. This steel, known for its formidable combination of toughness and flexibility, is created from eleven pieces of steel folded over five times to produce 352 distinct layers. Such meticulous craftsmanship results in a blade with a Rockwell hardness rating of 55 to 56 HRC, balancing razor-sharp edge retention with remarkable resilience against impact. The core of this magnificent blade is forged from 1095 steel, the pinnacle of high carbon materials, renowned for its strength and durability. The layered construction not only imbues the sword with unmatched strength but also with a striking pattern that is as beautiful as it is deadly.

Elegant Design and Durability

The Xiphos sword is as much a piece of art as it is a weapon of war. Its handle, crafted from finely stained wood, promises both comfort and a secure grip. Complementing the blade is a sheath made from premium leather, ensuring that the sword is protected and ready for display or use. With an overall length of 24 inches and a Rockwell Hardness of 56-58 HRC, the sword strikes the perfect balance between usability and historical authenticity.

  • Handle Material: Elegantly stained wood
  • Overall Length: 24 inches, embodying the classic Xiphos design
  • Rockwell Hardness: A testament to its durability, rated at 56-58 HRC
  • Sheath: High-quality leather for protection and ease of carry
  • Blade Material: High Carbon Damascus Steel, for unmatched beauty and performance

Embrace the Legacy

The Greek Xiphos Sword, with its high carbon Damascus steel blade, is not just a weapon, but a piece of history. Battle-ready yet exquisitely crafted, it invites you to wield a piece of ancient Greek valor and craftsmanship.
