Gurkha Kukri Description
The Gurkha Kukri knife is a Nepalese blade with an inward curvature. The knife is similar to a machete and can be used as both a tool and a weapon. The Gurkha knife remains the basic utility weapon of the Nepalese people. It is also used by the the Royal Gurkha Rifles of the British Army, Nepalese Army, Assam Rifles, Gorkha regiments of the Indian Army, and of all Gurkha regiments worldwide. Due to the worldwide regiment use, the weapon acquired the English name “Gurkha blade” or “Gurkha knife”. The Gurkha knife often appears in Nepalese heraldry and is used in many traditional rituals.
This gurkha knife is made from Pattern welded Damascus steel. Pattern welded Damascus steel is a hard heat treated, folded carbon steel. There are 11 pieces of steel, folded five times, making 352 layers. The steel is the perfect combination of hardness and durability with a Rockwell hardness rating between 55 and 56 HRC. High carbon damascus steel must contain layers of high carbon steel. The high carbon steel we use is 1095 steel which is the highest content carbon steel used in swords. The combination of the steel layers creates a sword that is strong enough to hold a powerful edge while having the strength and flexibility to withstand powerful collisions. This makes the perfect steel for swords. The handle is micarta with Damascus steel bolsters. It comes with a leather sheath.

Absolutely love the knife. Beautifully made. Came sharp. Will definitely buy from again.
My 1st order through Battling Blades and won't be my last. I absolutely love this knife!! The Gurkha Kukn feels perfect in my hand and the handle is absolutely beautiful. I honestly could not be happier. It took a little longer to get to me only because of the rioting and shutdown from the covid19. Not Battling Blades fault. They responded to all my emails VERY QUICKLY. THANK YOU😃 I WILL DEFINITELY BE A REPEAT CUSTOMER
