The cavalry style backsword, which emerged as the preferred variant by the 18th century, was admired for its straight, slender blade, tapered to a non-lethal point. Our backsword is designed in this classic cavalry style.

Crafted from pattern welded Damascus steel, our backsword is a testament to robust engineering. The blade is a product of 11 pieces of steel, folded five times to form a total of 352 layers. The steel is heat-treated and folded carbon steel, providing an ideal balance of hardness and durability, evident in its Rockwell hardness rating of 55 to 56 HRC. The blade is primarily composed of 1095 steel - the highest carbon-content steel utilized in sword-making.
