Claymore Sword – 44ā€ | Hand-Forged Damascus Steel Two-Handed Scottish Sword with Scabbard

The claymore was the great sword of the Highlands—bold, imposing, and unmistakable in silhouette. Revered as the weapon of choice among Scottish warriors from the late Medieval through the Renaissance era, the claymore was a symbol of resistance, freedom, and strength. This modern interpretation stays true to that lineage, combining traditional Scottish form with the sophistication of Damascus steel craftsmanship.

Forged with historical accuracy and practical detail, this 60-inch claymore captures the power and elegance of the original battlefield weapon, designed to deliver heavy blows while maintaining the reach and control necessary in open combat.

Blade – 352-Layer Damascus Steel

At the heart of this sword lies a 352-layer pattern-welded Damascus steel blade, hand-forged from 11 layers of carbon and high carbon steel (6 pieces of #43/#40 and 5 pieces of 1095). This process, repeated through five folds, creates the distinctive wave-like grain pattern Damascus is known for—offering both structural performance and aesthetic brilliance.

The blade is double-edged, straight, and broad, with a central fuller running down its length to reduce weight without sacrificing strength. With a Rockwell hardness of 56–58 HRC, it provides excellent edge retention, durability, and cutting power—ideal for historical reenactment, martial practice, or collection.

Hilt – Practical Strength with Historic Influence

This claymore features a long, two-handed grip wrapped in wood or leather, providing the leverage necessary for wide, sweeping strikes. The crossguard is traditionally styled with downturned quillons and a slight forward flare, offering hand protection while maintaining the clean lines characteristic of 15th–17th century Scottish swords.

The wheel pommel is forged from steel, weighted for balance and accuracy in motion. Every component of the hilt is built with practicality in mind—no fantasy flourishes, just a faithful representation of the historical weaponry used by Scottish clansmen on the battlefield.
