Gurkha Kukri Knife - Handmade High Carbon Damascus Steel with Stag Horn Pommel

The Gurkha Kukri is a renowned Nepalese blade, recognized for its inward curve and versatility. Historically and culturally significant, it serves as both a reliable tool and a powerful weapon. This iconic knife, resembling a machete in shape and function, has deep roots in Nepalese tradition and remains an essential utility weapon for the people of Nepal.

It is also famously used by military forces around the world, including the Royal Gurkha Rifles of the British Army, the Nepalese Army, Assam Rifles, and the Gorkha regiments of the Indian Army. This global use has earned it the name "Gurkha Knife" or "Gurkha Blade." The Kukri also appears in Nepalese heraldry and plays a vital role in many traditional rituals.

Blade Materials: High Carbon Damascus Steel

Crafted from premium pattern-welded Damascus steel, this Gurkha Kukri is a masterpiece of strength and durability. The blade is composed of 11 pieces of steel, folded five times to create a stunning 352-layer Damascus pattern. The combination of high carbon steels, including 1095—the highest carbon content steel used in blades—produces a Rockwell hardness of 55-56 HRC, ensuring an exceptional balance of sharpness, strength, and flexibility.

This Kukri is designed to endure harsh use, with a blade capable of maintaining a razor-sharp edge while withstanding heavy impacts.

Handle and Sheath

The handle is crafted from durable wood, featuring a stag horn pommel for a classic and comfortable grip. A handmade leather sheath is included for protection and ease of carrying.
