LongswordĀ Sword Description
The longsword, king sword, also known as long sword or long-sword, is a type of European sword characterized by a cruciform hilt with a two handed with a straight double-edged blade.Ā This sword is identified but the horse head handle and pommel design.Ā The longsword was prevalent during the late medieval and Renaissance periods (approximately 1350 to 1550), with early and late use reaching the 13th and 17th centuries.Ā The term bastard sword is used to identify the longsword during the late medieval and Renaissance period.Ā To be defined as a bastard sword, the sword must be between 33"-43".Ā This longsword sword measures 41".
Blade Material
The sword is made from 1095 steel.Ā 1095 steel is the highest carbon steel commonly used in swords.Ā It has a carbon level of .95% which is one of the highest carbon levels for any type of steel.Ā The most common high carbon swords are 1045 steel which only have .45% carbon content in the steel.Ā 1095 steel is known for its ability to maintain an edge and is an incredibly hard steel.Ā 1095 steel typically has a hardness of 56-58 HRC.Ā The problem with 1095 steel is that it isĀ lacks flexibility.Ā Flexibility is critical to sword making so the sword doesn't break on high impact collisions.Ā ToĀ increase the flexibilityĀ ofĀ thisĀ steel, clay tempering is used to soften the steel.Ā Ā The clay is thickly painted on the blade to insulates the parts of theĀ bladeĀ thatĀ weĀ want softened soĀ theyĀ cool more slowly during the quenching process.Ā In this case, the clay is painted everywhere except the edge.Ā Ā This clay tempering process keeps the strong and sharp edge of the blade while allowing the rest of the blade to be more flexible.Ā This process optimizes the strength of the blade and maximizes its sharpness creating an incredible strong blade and sharp edge.

Shipping times refer to carrier transit time after an item ships. They do not include production time, custom work, engraving, etching, or other preparation time before shipment.
In-stock items typically ship within 1 to 4 business days, though this can occasionally take longer during high-volume periods or for items requiring extra handling. Engraving or etching on in-stock items may add 1 to 3 business days before shipment.
Custom, engraved, altered, made-to-order, backordered, and specialty items (including armor and chess sets) may require additional production time before they ship. Fully custom items typically take 4 to 8 weeks, but complex requests may take longer depending on the design, materials, approvals, and production requirements.
Once an item ships, delivery time depends on the shipping method, carrier, and destination. If you need an item by a specific date, contact us before ordering so we can confirm whether the timeline is realistic.
In-stock items with no customizations can be returned free within 30 days, as long as they show no signs of use. Returns are handled through our return center.
Items that have any customization (such as engraving or etching) or that show signs of use cannot be returned. Custom and made-to-order items are produced specifically for your order and are not eligible for return.
If your item arrives damaged, incorrect, or defective, contact us with your order number and photos so we can review the issue.
