Battling Blades is a family-owned business based in Deerfield, Illinois. We design, sell and customize swords, knives, axes, armor and related historical, fantasy and collectible products.

Our catalog includes longswords, katanas, Viking swords, gladius swords, rapiers, cutlasses, scimitars, axes, knives, armor, shields and custom-made products.

What We Do

Battling Blades focuses on historically inspired, fantasy-inspired and custom collectible blades.

Our custom options allow customers to choose materials, dimensions, construction features, engraving, artwork, scabbards and other design details. For more specialized designs, customers can submit reference images, drawings or written descriptions.

Materials and Construction

Our products use a range of materials depending on the item and configuration, including high-carbon steel, Damascus steel, stainless steel, wood, leather, bone, micarta and metal fittings.

Product pages include available specifications such as blade material, length, hardness, handle material, construction details, scabbard type and personalization options.

Many custom swords can be configured with 1095 high-carbon steel, Damascus steel, full-tang construction, sharpening, blade engraving and custom scabbards.

Engraving and Custom Artwork

Battling Blades offers personalization options on many products, including blade engraving, scabbard engraving, names, initials, dates, logos, symbols, custom artwork and UV printing where available.

Personalized and made-to-order items are produced according to the selected options and submitted customer details.

About Our Instruments

We have several versions of each instrument:

Beginner: Beginning/ student trumpet. This is the entry level to our brand. These instruments are designed to allow the user to produce an initial sound.

Intermediate: These instruments are more fine-tuned than standard instruments but are amazing all-around trumpets. These instruments have some specialized features, but still encompass a broad range of genres.

Professional: Our highest level and quality instruments. These are the best instruments available in the marketplace. These instruments function as all-around trumpets unless otherwise noted.

About Trumpets

The trumpet is a brass instrument, or brass wind instrument, commonly seen in classical and jazz ensembles. The trumpet group ranges from the high register piccolo trumpet to the bass trumpet, the lowest octave trumpet.

Trumpet-like instruments have been used as signaling devices in battle or hunting. Historical finds date back to 1500 B.C.E. or even earlier. Their use as musical instruments began in the late 14th or early 15th century. Trumpets are used in art music styles, such as orchestras, concert bands, jazz ensembles, and other types of popular music.
