Medieval Arming Sword

Step into the past and experience the elegance and power of the Medieval Arming Sword, a weapon that embodies the spirit of the knights of old. This sword, with its exquisite craftsmanship and historical authenticity, is perfect for collectors, reenactors, and sword enthusiasts alike.

Historical Significance

The Medieval Arming Sword, also known as the Knightly Sword, was the quintessential weapon of the medieval knight. Used primarily from the 11th to the 14th centuries, this sword was designed for versatility in battle, being effective for both cutting and thrusting. Carried by knights and soldiers alike, the arming sword was often used in conjunction with a shield or buckler, making it a fundamental part of a knight’s arsenal. Its balanced design and manageable size made it a reliable sidearm during the turbulent times of the Crusades and the Hundred Years' War.

Key Specifications:

  • Overall Length: 32 inches
  • Blade Material: Pattern-welded Damascus steel, meticulously crafted from:
    • 6 Pieces of Carbon Steel (#43 and #40)
    • 5 Pieces of High Carbon Steel 1095

Detailed Blade Craftsmanship:

Forged from the finest pattern-welded Damascus steel, the blade of this arming sword is a masterpiece of heat-treated, folded carbon structure. The meticulous folding process not only enhances the blade's strength and flexibility but also creates a stunning, unique pattern that is a hallmark of Damascus steel.

  • 1st Fold: 22 Layers
  • 2nd Fold: 44 Layers
  • 3rd Fold: 88 Layers
  • 4th Fold: 176 Layers
  • 5th Fold: 352 Layers

The result is a blade with 352 layers, combining beauty and durability to provide a sword that is both functional and visually striking. The Damascus steel ensures a razor-sharp edge and a resilient structure, making this sword a formidable weapon in battle and a stunning display piece.

Design and Features:

  • Crossguard and Pommel: The sword features a classic straight crossguard, offering protection and balance, while the pommel provides a secure grip and counterbalance to the blade.
  • Handle: The handle ensures ease of use during prolonged handling, whether in combat or display.
  • Authenticity: This Medieval Arming Sword is designed to reflect the historical accuracy of weapons carried by knights during the High Middle Ages, making it a perfect addition to any collection.

Whether you are a historical reenactor, a collector of fine swords, or simply an admirer of medieval craftsmanship, this Medieval Arming Sword is an exceptional piece that combines historical authenticity with modern craftsmanship. Own a piece of history and feel the legacy of the knights with this extraordinary sword.
