Crusader Helmet
The crusader helmet, also known as the great helm helmet, also known and the crusader helmet, pot helm, bucket helm or barrel helm, is a helmet used during the high middle ages. During the crusades, the helmet rose in popularity due to its extensive protective covering and lifting face mask. This allowed crusaders to wear the helmet in and out of battle with greater comfort, increasing protection through dangerous regions in their journey. The barreled style of the great helm was used by knights during the 13th and 14th centuries. This design evolved into the frog-mouth helm used in jousting competitions. This helmet is made of mild 20-gauge steel.
