The term bastard sword is used to identify the longsword during the late medieval and Renaissance period. To be defined as a longsword sword, the sword must be between 33"-45". This longsword measures 40". The blade is 32" and the handle is 8". The handle is wood wrapped in leather with steel bolsters. It is finished with a handmade leather sheath.
