Dragon Sword - Han Jian: A Blade Carved from History

Engage with the whispers of ancient Chinese wisdom with our Dragon Sword - Han Jian, a blade whose legend traces back to the dawn of the Han dynasty. A creation of the yore, the Jian sword’s silhouette became a notable departure from its sibling, the Dao sword of the Song dynasty. While the Dao reflects the fluid grace of a saber, the Jian mirrors the staunch dignity of a European longsword, offering a delicate balance between grace and power, a poetic narrative of steel.

Historic Essence: Originating in the era of bronze, the Jian saw the day's light during the mid-third century BC, only to evolve into an iron and steel marvel during the late Warring State period. The sword became an emblem of a unique class of swordsmen, who made a living from the noble art of fencing, which too was an aristocratic pastime, embodying a culture of martial elegance. Though the detailed "Way of the Jian" manual has succumbed to the annals of history, the lore continues to stir hearts, narrating tales of fencing maestros who danced with the Jian in a deadly ballet.

Technical Mastery: Crafted from the revered 1095 steel, this Dragon Han Jian doesn’t just cut through foes but cleaves through the veil of mediocrity. With a carbon content of .95%, the blade embodies a hardness that mirrors the resolve of ancient Chinese warriors, holding its edge through the tides of battle, while its pairing with softer steels grants it a graceful flexibility, a trait of a true master.

Technical Attributes

  • Handle Material: Elegant Wood adorned with Brass Bolsters
  • Overall Length: 39 inches of historic dignity
  • Rockwell Hardness: 56-58 HRC, a testament to resilience
  • Sheath: Traditionally crafted Wood sheath
  • Blade Material: 1095 steel, a narrative of strength

The Dragon Han Jian isn't just a sword; it's a bridge to an era where steel determined the might of empires and the grace of nobles. Every swing carries the legacy of ancient Chinese craftsmanship, an ode to the martial elegance of yesteryears. This isn't merely a sword; it's history unsheathed, a relentless spirit of ancient China ready to echo through the annals of time once more.

A very impressive sword

I was very impressed with the overall size and heft of this sword. It came with a great finish and sheathing. I loved the profile of the steel and grinding s were spot on. After a small sharpening session it cut paper! I mean it’s razor sharp. Hard to compare it’s style to European swords but it’s kinda like a two hand mid evil type of sword with Chinese roots . Just an awesome piece and a great bang for your buck !

Great sword

Great detail and extremely solid blade. It's heavier than it might look on the picture. Really impressed, it's definitely worth the money
