Authentic Gauntlets: A Fusion of Historical Precision and Modern Craftsmanship

Heritage and Design Inspiration: Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, our Gauntlets are a tribute to the rich legacy of European combat and armor design, spanning from the early 14th to the 19th centuries. Made from robust 20 gauge steel, these gauntlets are not just protective gear but a piece of history, embodying the essence of centuries-old battlefields.

Evolution of Protection: The journey of gauntlet development is a testament to the evolution of medieval armor. Originating in the 11th century, European knights initially used chain mail, including chain mail mittens, as their primary defense. This early armor provided reasonable protection against cuts and lacerations but fell short against more severe impacts.

In the 12th century, a significant advancement in armor technology saw the introduction of chain mail shirts with extended, narrower sleeves, enhancing hand protection. However, the real transformation occurred in the early 14th century with the advent of fully articulated plate armor. This breakthrough offered unmatched defense against heavy blows and was the foundation for the design of the gauntlets. Skillfully constructed from overlapping steel plates, gauntlets emerged in two main styles: the fingerless "mitten" design for robust protection and the fully fingered "glove" version, which traded a bit of defense for improved dexterity, especially in colder conditions.

Modern Craftsmanship Meets Historical Accuracy: Our Gauntlets are the embodiment of the innovation and skill of historical armorers, offering authentic, durable hand protection. Whether you are a historical reenactor, an avid collector, or a medieval enthusiast, our gauntlets are a perfect choice. They offer a unique combination of form, functionality, and craftsmanship, enabling you to connect with the storied past of European combat in a tangible, meaningful way.

Cool

I like them. They arrived 4 days early and I immediately put them on. the left hand feels a little weird and the right hand fits better but its really cool and otherwise fits very well. They look great too with little to no marks and smudges. I love it.
